Where have all the flowers gone?

Thursday, February 2, 2012 – “Where have all the flowers gone?” (Kingston Trio). The same applies to Winter2011! Okay, so it’s been cool but the Butterfly bush has pushed out one inch leaves. It has been said that plants, trees and all other forms of vegetation have sensory capabilities well beyond human understanding.022012They respond to our emotions, moods, and general well being. Talk to your plant while watering and watch it respond. This could possibly explain why you might find a Winemaker wandering throughout the vineyard and appearing to be talking to himself. No, it’s not the Bluetooth in his ear, nor did he just finish tasting all the wine barrels. He is listening to the vineyard, interpreting its response to the weather, are they reacting similar to the butterfly bush? Are life’s nutrients being drawn from the soil and enticing the buds to swell?

Could this be a sign that a banner year might be in the making? What?

No! The Canadian Ski Association has redirected the Jet stream in an effort to keep their slopes open.

Really, where did you think I was going with this? February always holds surprises for us when it comes to Winter.

Cheers!
