In The Vineyard:
— May 2013 — What will she do? What surprise does she have up her sleeves?
Just as the buds began to swell in response to the warmer weather, Mother Nature, with all her might, threw a curve ball by lowering the temperatures as to inhibit their growth. Well, I’m proud to say that my guys(and gals), the Cabs, Merlot, Chardonnay, and the Austrian grape varieties fought back. They were persistent in shooting out their leaves to an impressive 3-4 inch growth. God bless them.
Their leaves follow the early morning sunlight and throughout the day, basking and absorbing its energy for continued growth. A new year has started!!!
During your next visit to our winery, take a moment and stroll though the Vineyard and notice how these tender shoots are opening and responding to life, a new beginning!
As part of the vineyard management, vines that are not producing as well are replaced with young transplants. Shown here are the new arrivals. Soon to grow and produce some of the best grown NJ wine..
