Longer days and warmer weather make us think of picnics and barbecues and gatherings and sangria!
Now, sangria is usually thought of as a summer beverage, and it’s technically only spring… But it’s a holiday weekend, and Memorial Day is considered the unofficial beginning of summer. We’re ready for sangria! And if you’re planning a get-together, it’s a refreshing crowd pleaser.
Celebrate summer early with this Sangria Blanca (White Spring Sangria) from Williams-Sonoma.
Spring White Sangria
1 bottle (750 ml) fruity white wine… (We’d like to recommend our Windswept White.)
1 1/4 cups (10 fl. oz./310 ml) passion fruit juice
1⁄4 cup (2 fl. oz.) fresh lime juice
1 cup (6 oz./185 g) white grapes, seeded and halved
1 cup (6 oz./185 g) Muscat grapes, seeded and halved
1 Asian or Bartlett pear, cored and thinly sliced
1 can (20 oz.) litchis with syrup
2 Tbs. chopped fresh mint
2 Tbs. chopped fresh dill
Ice for serving
In a pitcher, combine the wine, passion fruit and lime juices, grapes, pear, litchis and their syrup, mint and dill. Stir well. Refrigerate until chilled and the flavors have blended, about 2 hours.
To serve, pour the sangria into individual Collins or old-fashioned glasses filled with ice. Serves 6 to 8.

We can’t give you the recipe. Sorry. That’s a trade secret! But we CAN offer it to you ready-made, a delicious party punch that your guests will love and you don’t have to make!! (Which, in our humble opinion, makes it all the better.)
