Pouring Good into the Community One Toy and One Can at a Time
New Egypt, NJ December 1, 2012 — Following a very successful food drive for Thanksgiving that enabled over 200 pounds of food to be distributed to less fortunate families, Laurita Winery is teaming up with Toys for Tots and Operation Jersey Shore Santa this holiday season to brighten many Christmas mornings in the state of New Jersey.
In the wake of Hurricane Sandy, many families at the Jersey Shore lost their belongings and their homes. While numerous groups and organizations are helping with the here & now needs of those who have been displaced, Operation Santa was created to bring Christmas to these families.
While many will be concentrating on rebuilding their homes and their lives, Operation Santa is striving to help lift some of the burden of bringing Christmas to families with children.
The mission of the U. S. Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots Program is to collect new, unwrapped toys during October, November and December each year, and distribute those toys as Christmas gifts to less fortunate children in the community in which the campaign is conducted.
The primary goal of Toys for Tots is to deliver, through a new toy at Christmas, a message of hope to less fortunate youngsters that will assist them in becoming responsible, productive, patriotic citizens.
The objectives of Toys for Tots are to help less fortunate children throughout the United States experience the joy of Christmas; to play an active role in the development of one of our nation’s most valuable resources – our children; to unite all members of local communities in a common cause for three months each year during the annual toy collection and distribution campaign; and to contribute to better communities in the future.
Laurita Winery is a drop off location for both Operation Jersey Shore Santa and Toys for Tots this season.
Please join Laurita Winery as we help keep the Christmas spirit alive this season. As a gift to you, Laurita Winery will give a buy one, get one free wine tasting for every new, unwrapped toy delivered to the winery. Drop off begins this Saturday, December 1 and runs through Sunday, December 16, 2012.
