Mardi Gras Weekend
“Mardi Gras” is the Tuesday before Ash Wednesday. The word Mardi Gras is French for Fat Tuesday, referring to the practice of the last night of eating decadent, fatty foods before the ritual fasting of the Lenten season, which begins on Ash Wednesday. The Annual Mardi Gras Celebration at Laurita Winery is an awesome opportunity to taste great wines, indulge in pairings of Cajun-style delicacies and shake off the winter blahs!
Maybe you’re like others and every year you swear you are going to celebrate Mardi Gras and every year it passes you by and you don’t. It is on a Tuesday after all and pretty easy to forget. This year, though, make it a point to enjoy some nice, spicy New Orleans style food coupled with some amazing Laurita wines that go well with New Orleans foods and are decadent enough to help you fully celebrate this ultimate holiday of over-indulgence.
Don a mask, collect your beads and taste the extraordinary wines that Laurita Winery has to offer. Cajun treats and Jazz music will transport you to the bayou, where fun, food and camaraderie are celebrated in grand style. Come celebrate Mardi Gras this weekend, February 23 and 24, 2013 at Laurita Winery.
