Making a Difference in Our Community
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
New Egypt, NJ – When you give, you REALLY can change the world. Laurita Winery is extremely grateful to its generous customers who helped generate a magnificent donation during one of their recent Food Truck and Fire Pits event. These kind efforts resulted in a check totaling $5,000 that was donated to the Parents of Autistic Children (POAC). This donation benefits the POAC in its mission to continue to be the education leader for the autism community providing more free training and education than any other organization. Additionally, POAC provides recreational and support services to children with autism spectrum disorders and their families. Because the costs of services are prohibitive for most families, POAC is deeply committed to providing services at no cost to participants. POAC is making a difference today for every child with autism in our state. Laurita recognizes this as cause to celebrate!
The needs of the autism population are growing. New Jersey has the highest rate of autism in the entire country with 1 out of every 45 children born today having autism. This is more than AIDS, cerebral palsy, cystic fibrosis, muscular dystrophy, and cancer and combined. To date, thousands of parents, teachers, and other service providers have been trained. Law Enforcement Officers, Fire Fighters, EMTs, and other First Responders in every New Jersey county have been trained in autism recognition and response and in several cases, the training has been life-saving. All of this is accomplished without government funding; it is all done through the generosity of those who contribute to POAC fundraising activities. Making a difference in the lives of children now, is at the heart of everything POAC does. For the thousands of children with autism who benefit from their services and programs every year, POAC has become a bastion of support and a beacon of hope via donations such as Laurita Winery’s.
Laurita Winery is proud to be an active member of our local community. Since 2008, we have strengthened our connections to different causes each year by monetary donations. Laurita does not set a limit on how much it can raise. It’s not only about money. It’s about awareness.
Giving back to the community is part of who we are and what we do and our customers are at the heart of it. Please join Laurita Winery for their next food truck October 17 and 18 as our community gives back to the East Wind Symphony and November 14 and 15 as we support Mary’s Place by the Sea. As we approach the season of giving and being thankful for family and friends, consider extending your good tidings to those organizations in need as well.
