Laurita Winery Irish 2013 Festivities
St. Patrick’s Day, though not a legal holiday in the United States, is nonetheless widely celebrated as a celebration of Irish and Irish American culture. Prominent displays of the color green, feasting on corn beef and cabbage, copious consumption of beverages, religious observances, and numerous parades mark the day. After four years of enthusiastic celebration, Laurita Winery is proud to celebrate another Saint Patrick’s Day at our vineyard.
All year, we tend the vines and work together to create the signature Laurita wines we are known for, so in honor of all of our Irish heritages, we’d like to raise a toast: Slainte! Slainte is a Gaelic word used in Ireland and Scotland toasting “to your health.” A hospitable culture, rarely short on clever turns of phrase, one Irish toast goes:
May you be poor in misfortune, rich in blessings,
Slow to make enemies, quick to make friends,
But rich or poor, quick or slow,
May you know nothing but happiness from this day forward!
As you gather with loved ones this St. Patrick’s Day, consider offering up a traditional Irish verse or two. Better still, join our Laurita family as we celebrate our heritage and many blessings during bookend weekends March 9 and 10 and March 16 and 17. Keeping with our family tradition, we open our family estate to you. Stop in for the festivities, take a tour, listen to amazing Irish music, enjoy our award-winning wines and feast like a king on our Irish food.
