Perfect Pairings for your Cookie Cravings!

It’s that time of year again! No, not the Super Bowl. That’s old news. We’re talking about something important, something life-changing, something we dream about through long months of deprivation, until it’s finally time to order…

GIRL SCOUT COOKIES!!! (Admit it. If you didn’t realize it was time, you’re now as excited as we are!)

Even more exciting, this year the wine app Vivino has gone to the trouble of researching the perfect wine to pair with your personal favorite cookie.

Thin Mints

Crunchy little mint delights, covered in chocolate. Vivino recommends pairing with a Brunello.

Samoas (Caramel deLites)

Toasty bits of deliciousness, with coconut-covered caramel and milk chocolate. Pairs well with a Rioja. (Or try them with our Cabernet!)

Tagalongs (Peanut Butter Patties)

Tastes like a peanut butter cup, with the crunch of cookie. Try this one with Amarone.

Old-fashioned shortbread flavor. Perfect with Rieslings (which is coming soon to Laurita!!)

Do-Si-Dos (Peanut Butter Sandwiches)

Yummy little peanut butter and oatmeal sandwiches. Vivino suggests a California Zinfandel. (Try them with our Beachcomber Blush or Norton.)

Cranberry Citrus Crisps

Crispy cookies filled with cranberry bits. Pairs well with Pinot Noir.

Shortbread cookies with a sweet lemon icing. Try them with a Roero Arneis.

Rah-Rah Raisins

Hearty oatmeal with Greek yogurt and raisins. Vivino recommends a Bordeaux. (We humbly suggest you try them with our Cabernet or Merlot.)

Savannah Smiles

Lemon flavored cookies with a dusting of powdered sugar. Works well with a Sancerre.

Shortbread cookies with a fudge bottom. Pairs nicely with a Bandol Rouge.

Rich, buttery cookies with crunchy toffee bits. Try them with a Chateauneuf De Pape.

Gluten free peanut butter oatmeal cookies with chocolate chips. Vivino recommends a Syrah. (You may want to consider our Bistro or Barcelona.)

You may have noticed, some of those cookies have an alias. Turns out the Girl Scouts use two different bakers, and where you live determines what you taste. If you’re not sure, the LA Times has a helpful list of the differences, and how to know which cookies are available in your area.

Now, we realize do tastes are subjective. We’re of the opinion that any one of these cookies would taste just lovely paired with… well… any of of our excellent wines!

But we want to know what you think! Got a favorite pairing? (Or just a favorite Girl Scout Cookie? Of course you do.) Let us know in the comments!
