Frosty Summertime Wine Treats!

You know we’re firm believers that wine should be fun!

Sure, wine is sophisticated. And complicated, and magical, and unique. And it is intended for adult enjoyment, being an alcoholic beverage and all. But wine can also be FUN, and what’s life without a little fun? Or a little sweet indulgence, for that matter?

Judging from your reaction to the wine gummy bears and jello shots, we guess you feel the same! And we think you’re going to love these frosty summertime wine treats we found at Club W!

Frozen Wine Grapes

This is the best kind of recipe, because it requires no cooking or kitchen skills whatsoever.

  • grapes
  • sugar
  • white wine

  1. Fill a pitcher or bowl with the white wine, and soak grapes to marinate.
  2. Lightly pat the grapes dry, and roll around in white sugar.
  3. Freeze grapes, and enjoy!

See what we mean? Anyone can do this! And think how good a bowlful would be at a picnic or barbecue!

Wine Slushie

We’ve tried several wine slushie recipes now, including frose… And we’ll try this one too, because wine!

  • white wine
  • frozen raspberries and strawberries (or fruit of choice)
  • fresh fruit for decoration

  1. Blend two cups of white wine and frozen fruit until you have a puree.
  2. Pour the puree into a shallow dish, and place in the freezer for 30 minutes.
  3. Fluff the slushie, and scoop into a cup to enjoy!

It’s a little different from the slushie recipe we’ve shared before, with fresh fruit and no added sugar, and we’re excited to try it!

And now, last but far from least, a new take on a childhood classic…

Red Wine Float

Oh, goodness… Just look at it.

  • vanilla ice cream
  • red wine
  • sparkling water
  • Maraschino cherries

  1. Scoop the ice cream into a cup.
  2. Pour the wine and sparkling water over the ice cream.
  3. Top with a couple of cherries!

It’s the ultimate throwback. The rootbeer float all grown up.

We’ve got less than a month of summer left. Time to get taste-testing these treats! And if you do, drop us a comment and let us know what you think!
