“Mr. Lucky” is a band born of chance, fortified by a love of blues music and comprised of four veteran musicians who are dedicated to preserving what many have deemed “A dying genre.”

The brainchild of guitarist John Patrick Bastiani and drummer Danny Coleman; “Mr. Lucky” evolved almost seemingly overnight when Bastiani recruited fellow guitarist Chuck McCrory and Coleman introduced bassist Mike Carthan into the fold. Playing and performing upbeat, rhythmic jump, swing and traditional blues, these South Jersey rockers are intent on bringing the best they have to offer to a stage, festival or party near you!

CHUCK McCRORY: McCrory has been a guitarist for more than 30-years and has performed all over the Delaware Valley. During the Mid-90’s he began frequenting a Jazz/blues club in South Jersey, where he first received exposure to the blues. The music opened another realm for Chuck and the more he performed it, the more his passion grew for the genre. The mid 90’s saw Chuck front his first blues band; “Smoke Stack Lightnin’.”Here Chuck crafted his signature sound and transformed himself into a strong front man and vocalist. Currently Chuck is the host of the Greenwood Inn Blues Jam/Open Mic. in Pennsauken, NJ.

MICHAEL CARTHAN: Trenton native Michael Carthan is the first call bassist for countless gospel, rock, country, jazz and R&B groups. He performs regularly with Philadelphia Recording Artist “The Amazin’ Grace Little” as well as the Renaissance Jazz Band. He has opened for gospel luminaries Shirley Caesar, Richard Smallwood & Dorothy Norwood and has performed at every major venue in the tri-state area and beyond with countless artists such as Clifford Adams & Michael Ray of Kool & the Gang and Kathy Sledge of Sister Sledge, Shirley Jones of the Jones Girls, The Tramps, Harold Melvin’s Blue Notes, Glenn Jones & Eric Benet.

JOHN PATRICK BASTIANI: John is a blues guitarist and veteran vocalist who has more than 25 years in the NJ blues scene. Once a member of the popular North Jersey Based blues group “Hi-Way 13 Blues Band;” Bastiani has performed throughout NJ & NYC. An outstanding solo act as well, John can be found in bars, restaurants and coffee houses performing his brand of classic rock cover tunes and blues with an occasional original song thrown in for good measure. John cites some influences as Stevie Ray Vaughan and Buddy Guy.
