Best Wines To Drink In The Summer!

After the winter-that-wouldn’t-end, Mother Nature seems to have decided to skipp spring entirely and suddenly it’s summer! (No complaints here. We’d had quite enough, thank you.) And now comes time for cookouts and fun in the sun!

A lot of people vary their wine choices with the seasons, turning toward deeper red wines and fuller-bodied whites in the winter, while rose is often considered a summer wine. But what are the best ones to drink in the summer?

All of them!

Well, most of them. Rather than sticking to tradition, Refinery 29 suggests a much wider range.

Not only should we be drinking rosé year-round, but we can also give lighter-bodied reds (stick them in the fridge for 15 minutes before serving) and bottles of Riesling a spotlight on summer tables.

Fruit forward wines and higher acidity make for a summer-perfect wine, whether a white or a light red is your preference. Both Reisling and rose cover the spectrum from sweet to dry, and pair well with summer foods.

“When I think of summer wines, I think of something that I can drink on a porch all day or in the park, having a picnic with friends. It should be refreshing!”

For a tempting warm-weather red, try Laurita Tailgate Red, with it’s soft velvet finish compliments the balance between fruit and refreshing flavor. If your tastes run to white, we recommend our Tailgate White. It’s fresh fruit and slight sweetness allow it to be well chilled for those tailgate parties and the unique foods enjoyed there.

And if you’re a stickler for summer rose, you’ll love our Down the Shore Beachcomber Blush! This dark pink wine offers lovely cherry and berry flavors, backed by a hint of depth and light tannins as well as refreshing acidity! Perfect on ice at your barbecue!

Of course, there’s always sangria.
